Problem with Sennheiser OMX 50

I recently bought a pair of these

Play.com (UK) : Sennheiser OMX 50 VC In-Ear Headphones : Electronics - Free Delivery

and I'm really disappointed. I have a bigger more expensive pair of Sennheisers for the house and I love them. but the OMX50 have quite poor quality sound...I get distortion on some tracks!! (not all) so in my view they're actually worse than the cheapie headphones I got with my iPod.

Anyone have a better experience with these headphones or should I ditch them?
