Which MP3 player do you have? Not all players have a line-out connection.

You use a line out dock and connect that to the amp - if the player has a dock. It's like the iPod connector next to the headphone out, that enables the iPod to dock to other gear, and enables mps etc to be loaded. I'm assuming most players have these. If you've got a flash/usb player, you're stuffed.

Ask if you need an amp though, it shouldn't be necessary for a player and the headphones suited to portables. If its better SQ you're after, buy better phones instead. Cheap amps + players just = louderer, not better sound.
