Replacement in-ear headphones for £30?

I have been using the cx300's for a little while now but someone stepped on one of them and I need to buy some new ones. I have had a look at the upgrades - ie. cx400 and cx500. Does anyone have any experience with them? I have heard very mixed reviews.

If anyone has any suggestions as to any other ones I would be grateful.

Thanks

Dom

Replacement headphones for £30

The Sennheiser CX range are a great introduction to better quality in-ear earphones. The bass response is typical Sennheiser... lots of it! To be fair they're not that accurate, but are enjoyable to listen with (especially if it's a first step into decent earphones).

For £30 you can get the Sennheiser CX300-II (an incremental upgrade from the old CX300). Another alternative is the SoundMAGIC PL30. Plenty of well defined bass (better than the CX300), good build quality and wide sound stage. Very impressive for the money!

Re: Replacement in-ear headphones for £30?

Thanks for the info, I will keep it in mind. Has anyone who is not advertising had any experience with the SoundMAGIC PL30?

Also, by the cx300 I meant I had the cx300 II, and if those are the best out at the moment for the price then I could buy the same ones again.

Re: Replacement in-ear headphones for £30?

I got these recently on play.com Play.com (UK) : Ultimate Ears MetroFi 170 Noise Isolating Earphones : Electronics - Free Delivery which i was pretty happy with for the price. I paid £17.99 for them 2 months ago but play have bumped the price up to £24.99

You could buy these UE earphones: Ultimate Ears Metro.Fi 100 Earphones £19.99 - Free Delivery for £19.99 which are probably similar to the 170s

Re: Replacement in-ear headphones for £30?

I got the titanium CX500's from HMV in the sale last week, £70 down to £35. I know theyre still a mile off play's price but had some vouchers i needed to use up. Quite impressed with them after moving accross from using Sony ones.
