Hi,
Does anyone know where I can get a shorter cable for my Bose QC3 headphones? I mean the cable that goes from the 4-pole 2.5mm jack on the headphones to a 3.5mm stereo jack for plugging in to the sound source. I have recently started using the headphones with a stereo bluetooth lanyard hanging around my neck, and the cable is just too long.
I've tried calling Bose directly, but they don't sell a shorter cable (the gentleman said that no-one needs a shorter cable, they all want to buy extensions). I've searched and searched and searched but have not been able to find one. The nearest I could find was an adaptor designed for smartphones:
2.5mm 4-Pole Plug to 3.5mm Stereo Socket Smartphone Headphone Adaptor : 2.5mm Stereo Jack Adaptors : Maplin
but it appears to be the wrong way around and probably has different connections to the headphones. Anyone got any suggestions?
Many thanks,
-simon
PS. Oh, and - before anyone starts with "the weakest link in any audio will determine the overall sound quality" and "stereo bluetooth sucks" - yes, I know. I plug straight in to my SACD player if I want to listen to high quality audio. The main reason I have these headphones is to listen to audio-books on long aeroplane flights, and all I want is the convenience of keeping my ipod safe in my bag without a long cable tying me to it (I destroyed my previous ipod by moving around too much and dragging it onto the floor ;-).
