Sennheiser CX-300 vs CX-500 vs CX-300 II

CX-300 II (£25)- Sennheiser CX 300 II Precision Noise Isolating: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo

CX-500- (£18) Play.com (UK) : Sennheiser CX500 Headphones (Black) : Electronics - Free Delivery

CX-300- (£18) Play.com (UK) : Sennheiser CX 300 In-Ear Headphones (Black) : Electronics - Free Delivery

For listening to RnB and Dance music, through one ear (I need to still be aware of my work colleagues unfortunatly!) plugged into my desktop computer at work using Spotify.

Looking for the best quality of music

Any ideas? CX-300 has best reviews but is a lower model than the 500 so i feel stupid buying the lower model for the same price! CX-300 are only £8 more expensive than the mk1 which is v.tempting!

Opinions pls ladies and gentleman I'v read other threads on these but im looking for value for money which is the dilema!

Thanks, Wayne

Re: Sennheiser CX-300 vs CX-500 vs CX-300 II

FWIW, I had the CX300 for 2 years. Very durable but sound crap IMO; lots of bass and treble with nothing in the middle. I guess a lot of people like this, as they sell heaps of them. Or maybe because they're better than iBuds and Senn floods the market with earphones and you don't get to try before buy...?

The CX300II is the same thing with an iPhone jack
The CX500 is the same thing with volume control.

I'd recommend looking at the Ultimate Ears Metro fi 150 in that price range.

But 'best quality' is subjective, and when only wearing in one ear most of the time, it's mutually exclusive.

Re: Sennheiser CX-300 vs CX-500 vs CX-300 II

Am currently using cx300 and cx500 together. Cx300 in the gym and cx500 at other times. Cx300's staggered l/r cables create less drag. In comparison I'd suggest that the cx500's have a warmer more fullsome sound (once run-in!). I find I can run my Sony s639f without eq too. Haven't heard the cx300mkII's but would suggest the cx500's as a no-brainer at that price??!
