looking for a cheap hdmi to hdmi cable that will support 1080p/100hz

Hi, theres so many cables to choose from. im a first time buyer of all the hardware and accessories ( AV/receivers,plasma,speakers, cables, etc ), im buying the onkyo TX-SR876 and the lg pg7000, both are top notch and i want to get the best cables but as cheap as possible. the plasma is 60inch and has full HD 1080p and is 100hz so i would like cables to support that, theres no point in buying the equipment if i aint go the right cables to get the best out of it :-). also i have a sky box ( not HD ) and i will be buying a HD DVD player or blu-ray and i dont know how many cables will need, does anyone know i good Internet page that can explain set up of speakers, dvd, sky, AV/receivers, and TV, and what cables are best for what ?. any help would be great.
Thanks,
Ash.

Hi,

You dont need to spend a fortune on HDMI cables, I got mine form here
HDMI Cables, HDMI Switchers, HDMI Splitters, DisplayPort Cables
How long do you need them ?

As far as how many do you need then something like this

Sky
Optical cable to Av Amp
Scart to TV

DVD
HDMI to Av Amp

Amp
HDMI to TV

As for speakers, what and how many do you have ?

hi, i had a look at your site, is the pro series better than the platinum series ? plus the cables say it only supports up to 60hz not 1000hz so wouldnt that mean more flicker in fast moving frames ?

Please read this article:
24fps, 100hz and HDMI Cables - HDMI Information Articles - HDMI Help, Support and Guidance Pages - HDCable.co.uk

Cables cannot affect Hz rate.

The pro-2 range is our cheaper value range of cables.

• 99.99 oxygen free copper
+
• Large gauge silver-plated conductors

A cable with a silver core would be pretty impressive, not to mention prohibitively expensive. I have not come accross one to date.

Where have you seen a cable with a silver core out of interest?

Interesting post from that guy. He didn't comment on the make or model. I would discount that post as a bit of a red herring.

I would say that 99.999999% of HDMI cables have a copper core. Even the most expensive ones.

also do you sell optical cables? if not can you advise me of a good one? iv been told of the Van Den Hul Optocoupler MkII (Toslink-Toslink) but if there is any other once that do the same job for less then id rather get that.

Re: looking for a cheap hdmi to hdmi cable that will support 1080p/100hz

Don't pay too much for an optical cable.

Again, somewhere between £7 - £15 is more than enough. There are plenty on Amazon.co.uk

HDCable.co.uk only currently specialises in visual cabling I'm afraid.

There is no difference in sound quality between 2 optical cables. The data is digital and lossless.

Regarding optical, I just ordered 2 of these
Fisual Digital Optical Cable - 1m - Pro Install Series: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo
I use one for connecting my SkyHd to Denon Amplifier, works fine.
