HDMI Dvi Splitting

Not entirely sure im posting in the correct place so if a mod can move this if its better suited elsewhere.

Okay, I have a samsung lcd tv fed a single HDMI via a marantz sr4001 amp.

currently the amp accepts hdmi from my sky box and ps3. the amp acts as a switcher so its all good.

i now want to add a mac mini to the setup so i need to use DVI. The ps3 get the least amount of use so i want a device to take my feeds from PS3HDMI and MAC DVI convert to HDMI and into the amp.

i've seen this would it do the job? seems to suggest its more for displaying on more than one display.

Anyone got any ideas what i need?

Thanks in advance.

Edit to say i'm aware of my subject title typo!

Re: HDMI DIV Splitting

you need a hdmi switch and a dvi to hdmi cable and it should do it for you, you can either get automatic ones or manual switches..

Something like this maybe

Re: HDMI DIV Splitting

Correct, the device you linked was a passive splitter which doesn't always work well even when you want a signal split which you do not.

There is a lot of hand-shaking going on within the HDMI chain and I would usually advise avoiding devices like the Thor that do not have their own power supply, some will work others will not.
