Hi guys,

Simple one really, I'll be picking up a new LCD TV from John Lewis this weekend.

If possible, I'd like to buy an HDMI cable at the same time.

I just want a decent quality budget cable, only want to spend £20-£30

I don't have to specifically buy from John Lewis. Around the same area there are Dixons, HMV, Sony Centre, Superfi and Richer Sounds.

I imagine they are all much of a muchness, but if any of you guys know of a particularly decent hdmi cable at that price, available from any of those retailers, I'd really appreciate it if you could give me the heads up.

Depends how long you want it.

Home bargains are selling 1.5m cables for £2.99 if you have one close to you.

If you need a longer one then I can recommend this seller on ebay, I have three 10m cables from them and they all work well with a 1080p signal, posts quickly too so should be with you by the weekend.

Unless its being embedded in a wall or something I wouldn't spend much more than this, its not necessary

Cheers mate, only needs to be short, and isn't going to be embedded in any walls as far as I know!

I'll check that guy out.

Are all HDMI cables 1.3 compliant, or is it a marketing ploy?
