1 to 2 way HDMI

Hi all.

When i decided on the Pioneer Receiver I wasn't going to have a projector. - DOH!

can anyone recommend a two way splitter box of some sort? Preferably one that doesn't require an action to switch over or one that ouputs from both at the same time?

Cheers!

Re: 1 to 2 way HDMI

I currently use one from Cable Universe to enable me to connect to projector and tv and have no problems with it. Just remember you need a free mains socket.

At the moment I am thinking of changing over to this one which is a 4 in 2 out as I want to be able to watch my V+ box on tv without having to have the amp switched on

Re: 1 to 2 way HDMI

I'm using a pair and go 1:2 splitter from some well known auction site. Does the same job as the one from cable universe and is £26 cheaper.

Re: 1 to 2 way HDMI

Thanks Mec, will have a look at that one.

Malabbey, how long is the cable run from the splitter to your display devices?

On of the reasons for me using one instead of just swapping the cable round is that I have swapped my room around and the Plasma HDMI cable is 12-15M from the receiver and I thought it would be a good idea to put the splitter half way along the run.

Cheers

5m to PJ and 3m to TV. According to the manual, this device is good for up to 15m before a repeater is required.

Re: 1 to 2 way HDMI

Thats the reason I got a splitter in the first place, got sick of going round back of amp swapping cables

I presume the one which Malabbey uses is powered which means the signal is amplified which helps on longer runs. In my case the cable is 3m to tv and 10m to projector.

Re: 1 to 2 way HDMI

Hello all

Having an external PSU on a 1x2 DA is not a sign that it either Amplifies or Equalises the Incoming signal.

Having an External PSU does mean you are not trying to 'steal' power away from the +5v rail that's arriving from your Source device via HDMI.

HDMI Distribution can be relatively painless or a bit of a nightmare - having an AV Receiver plus Long cable runs to a Projector potentially being the most problematic installation.

Lots of options in terms of a 1x2 DA and some will be more likely to work in your system than others - Octava are worth considering; see http://www.octavainc.com/HDMI%20dist...02%20port.html
