Could any of you guys/gals please recommend me a 7.5-8 meter hdmi cable v1.3 1080p compatible. This hdmi cable will connect my projector and av receiver. Please only recommend if you or someone you know has used the product.

Thanks,

Re: recommend me a cheap 7.5-8 meter hdmi cable

Hello

When you say cheap does this mean a thin poor quality cable or do you want something that will work... And stay working long term.

I would guess you want an alternative to say a Monster or IXOS which are very pricey, nice to look at but once installed you never see it...

I have used Blue jeans cable several times and recommend them without reservation. I have actulay bought and used one of their DVI to HDMI cables of 6m and it was great , no issues at all.

I would not go for the cheapest, go for the best quality.

Re: recommend me a cheap 7.5-8 meter hdmi cable

Sorry for not being clear on this before, but when i say cheap i dont mean cheap in quality but cheap in price. Audimushroom from your recommendations i see for my needs it would cost me £42.30(+ postage) for the BJC Series-1 Belden Bonded-Pair HDMI Cables which is 7.63m/25 ft in length.

Thanks any cheaper recommendations?

Using the series-1 cable for your length is overkill.

Series 2 will be just fine and is noticeably lower cost.

HDMIhead those cables look good quality for a very reasonable price. I'll probably go for the the premium N with the nylon mesh for a couple of quid more, Unless anyone recommends otherwise.

Thanks,

Re: recommend me a cheap 7.5-8 meter hdmi cable

Hi guys

I was reading through this thread & wanted to ask a question please.

I have just set up sammy HTZ310 home cinema to sammy 32 inch LCD, used optical cable and HDMI cable. Bought both cables from Ebay for approx. £6 each.

When I play a dvd film on the sammy home cinema and then plug the HDMI cable in I then see on the top left corner of the sammy tv, for 3 seconds, 560p ? Is that that quality of picture I am getting ? Should I not be getting more to 1080p that I have read on other threads ?

Maybe my HDMI was a bit too cheap ?

Would appreciate any assistance.

Thanks

If you're getting a picture, the cable is working. I would check the HDMI resolution settings on your Samsung H/C system. You'll need to check the manual.

Just to expand on Dave's comment in case it is still worrying you, your cable is physically unable to affect the resolution that your TV displays.

If you set your equipment to display 1080p then that is what you will get, or you will get no picture at all.

If the TV is displaying 576p then that is standard resolution for a DVD so unless your player is set to upscale then that would be normal.

Check your setting on the player and make sure you have upscaling selected then check again.

Just bought and received an 8m premium N hdmi cable from ukhdmi (very quick and free delivery). Looks good quality on first impressions will let you know on how it works.

Thanks
