hdmi problem with a pannasonic dvd and sony tv

help
i have a panny ez25 dvd recorder i am connecting to a sony kdl 32 d 3000 lcd tv via a hdmi cable
the panny displays a U71 code and wont operate via hdmi anyone had this fault please

Hello beanzboy

Not aware of what U71 means - though if you use the Search facility here and on Google you will find a few folk with the Panasonic DVD-R's get that message too!

It may be worth ensuring the Player does Not have any form of CEC (Viera Link) Control set to On as this may be confusing the Display.

Power everything OFF (not to Standby) and add in a SCART or another Analogue cable so you can see the DVD-R and have a look at its Menu.
