hdmi connection dvd recorder to sony lcd

Hi,

I have a Panasonic dvd recorder DMR E247VEB connected to Sony KDL 32D3000.......using scart is fine, just tried connecting using hdmi cable as Panny upscales.

It played dvd but with intermittent short blackouts.........any ideas on cure anyone ?
