15m + couple + 1.5m HDMI cable works fine at 1080p

Given the number of questions about HDMI cable lengths, I thought I would share my experience.

Until recently, I used a cheap 15m HDMI cable between a Pioneer AV600 DVD player and a Panasonic AX100 projector. I have had absolutely no problems whatsoever with cable and I have tested the cable with the system upscaling to 1080p; it works perfectly - no drop outs, signal loss etc.

Recently I needed to add a further 1.5m via (with a connector/coupler) so I now have two cables with a coupler with a total length of 16.5m - again testing at 1080p - it all works fine.

These cables come from ebay and the seller called HD cable - just so you know. I have nothing to do with the company, but I am very impressed with the quality of the cables and the cost too.

So there we go - very long HDMI cables (with a joint) and they work perfectly.

Hope this is of help to some of you.

Cheers,
Rob.
