QED hdmi qunex question

Hi, i recently purchased a qed qunex-p cable from ebay and was a bit worried as it is new but not packaged properly, and the back of the card in the box is in european languages not english. I contacted the seller and he says its about a year old version which is why the packaging has changed but the cables are identical to the new "performance" ones. i was just a bit worried it was a import but am i worrying over nothing?

It looks identical to the qed one,it has the qed logo on the connectors and performance written down the side, on the packaging i says designed in Uk and on the back made in china, will try and get some pics. it just looks like the inlay card has been cut down and the cable had been rewrapped in a bag.

I got it a bit cheaper than that, most were about the same price on there but went with him as good feedback and delivery.Hopefully it will be ok for my ps3. Are european cables the same quality as ours?

Hi I have bought from the same seller at a good price, the packaging does not have any spelling mistakes it apears to be of good qualty.

However it is a European model so if the seller is buying to export to another EU country he can then have the goods at zero VAT, so the price is significantly lower the fact it never leaves the country and sold here is of course not legal and at the end of the day I do not know the full facts and I am not pointing my finger at the seller but this is a common way of lowering prices.

Has anyone heard of fake cables in the past?

yes they are the same, it is the old European packaging, got it checked by Audio T

I've just bought the same cable - bugger

The packaging is diferent to uk version and the cable has diferent text printed on it.

has any one tried it with a 1080p signal?

I can't comment on the individual seller/cable but can tell you that the packing has been changed recently. The packaging used to be shaped like an arch (QED Qunex HDMI-P) then the packaging was changed to a rectangle shape (QED Performance HDMI), the cable however was unchanged.

Either way sounds like this seller is importing these cables from outside the UK and selling them here.
