Re: 15 or 20m hdmi cable recommendations please

Hello dean999

Up to 15m there are various 'cable' options - some Amplified some non amplified;

Media Factory - Bettercables HIgh Speed CAT2 HDMI cables, 1m to 12m.

Over 15m I'd consider HDMI over Dual CAT6 - far less problematic than a 'cable' solution;

Media Factory - Octava HDMICAT-UK, HDMI over CAT5 extender

Media Factory - Octava HDOCAT, HDMI + Optical 5.1 over CAT5 Extender inc. IR Passthru

Re: 15 or 20m hdmi cable recommendations please

We have one that is only one CAT5/6* cable

HDMI CAT5e/6 Extender 35m | HDMI | Extenders | Audio / Video | LINDY UK

* I would recommend CAT6

Best Regards

Hi Dean I use a budget 15m HDMI cable for my Sony HD PJ with no problems at all. If you go the cat6 extender route probably you only need one cable as you only need the picture.

You require 2 x CATx cables - with HDMI the audio stream is buried in the video stream; the second cable carries the EDID and HDCP info so without it you wont get an image.
