HDMI Splitter issues

I am trying to split a signal from a SKY HD box to a Samsung Series 7 LED and a Samsung series 5 in a kitchen .via a CYP CLUX-210S HDMI splitter.
The splitter is supposed to be fully HDCP compliant but as soon as it is plugged in line typical HDCP issues are displayed on the local screen. (eg white noise blue screen) Works fine direct from SKY HD box

The other screen that requires feeding is at the end of a cat5e cable run which was needs HDMI RX/TX box at either side. Haven't tried this yet due issues with local screen.

Has anyone had similar issues and how were they resolved( if at all).

Thanks

Greig

Re: HDMI Splitter issues

When you as soon as that gives the impression the kit was on while unplugging and plugging. Have you tried turning everything off and then switching on 1 at a time in different orders?

Re: HDMI Splitter issues

Hello GShaw

Your not alone in having issues with various Samsung LCD Displays when you introduce a Distribution Amp into the HDMI signal path - some of the LED backlit units being a common problem!

Whilst you may be seeing an HDCP error its more likely an EDID problem that's causing the error.

Do you get the same problem with both displays - you may need to drag kit around to run some tests.

Re: HDMI Splitter issues

Hi Joe,

You wouldn't be Gerry's brother by chance?
The TV is in a customers house. Long story. Last bit of the job was patch in the DA and send an HDMI over CAT5e to kitchen. Just checked samsungs site and they not helping out over EDID / HDCP issues with over manufacturers.

IF all else fails might run a component feed to kitchen TV via Cat5
Any suggestions on a work around for the HDMI would be welcome.

Cheers

Greig

Hi Greig

I'm the less nippy big brother

If your local we have a few bits of kit you can take away to try and resolve the problem.
