Essentially, I'm looking for a way to transmit HDMI signals over UTP for a SHORT distance (important!). Would this work?

Or is there a better/different solution? Tried a HDMI extender (with 2xUTP>HDMI and back) but that does not work due to cables supposedly being too short.

The only way to know if they will work for you is to plug them into your system and see what happens - I've tried a few of those devices and none were any good; though I wasn't trying them on very short runs we were doing 20m on our test rig.
