Smile Splitting HDMI that runs in the wall cavity

Hi - I have an LCD on the wall and an HDMI cable running from it inside the wall cavity and out through plastic housing in the corner of the room and up to my Blu Ray player.

This means I have a TV with no cables which is cool. HOWEVER!!!!!,

I have just got Virgin Media upgrade to have cable TV in HD, but I only have one Male HDMI cable end coming from the wall.

With a Blu Ray and now the Cable HD player I'm stuck.I really dont want to open the wall cavity up again to reach the TV with yet another cable.

I'm ready about Splitters and wondering this is what I need.

Can someone help as I dont really understand how this all works or the jargen used by the professionals?

Thanks, Paul

Re: Splitting HDMI that runs in the wall cavity

Search for 'HDMI switch' and you'll get plenty of hits.

A splitter would take one source to multiple displays so that is not what you want.

Re: Splitting HDMI that runs in the wall cavity

You want a switch not a splitter.

There are many options for switches, 2,3,4 or even 5 to 1, automatic switching or ones with a remote. I'd probably say get at least a 3 way switch to give some space for expansion

this is probably a good place to start, use code AVF10 for a 10% discount. I got my Matrix switch from this site and can highly recommend them.
