HDMI instead of Cat5?

Guys, Nightmare of nightmares!

Having spent 5 years converting my barn I have finally treated myself to the new gear I promised myself.

Unfortunately my HDMI lead installed at 1st fix has failed at the connection end.

Can anyone shed any light as to whether I can use the cable as a substitute for 2 Cat 5 runs, i.e. terminate the HDMI strands to Cat5 plugs, and thereore use one of the avalable Cat5 products to solve the problem?

Any help or feedback much appreciated!

I will post this in the HDMI leads section as well!

Cheers

Adrian.
