Hi,

Yes, DVI-D leads will fit in a DVI-I socket.

Best Regards

Re: DVI-D/ DVI-I HDMI advice please.... MAC

Same answer but a bit more waffly

DVI-D indicates a digital signal
DVI-A indicates an analogue signal (can be component or VGA)
DVI-I has both

So the DVI-I on your mac will carry both Analogue and digital signals so could be used either to a digital connection (including HDMI with appropriate cable or adapter) Or to an analogue connection (including VGA with an adapter)

You may actually find your choice of screen resolutions available via HDMI on your display to be limited (check the manual for the TV) to the HDTV ones (720p or 1080p) so if your screen also offers a VGA connection this might be worth trying for a better choice of resolution, especially if your display is not a 1080P one you may even be able to use the panals native resolution if you use VGA. Again the TV manual should give info on what resolutions the various connecters support.
