Do i need a 4x2 switch splitter.

Think thats what it's called

I currently have to keep unplugging hdmi's when i use my pj and although it's not like every 5mins or that difficult, just be easier if i did'nt have to

I can't spend a fortune on this item, and not really worried about looks or even bells and whistles, as long as it does the basic job.

I need to be able to run ps3, virgin v+ and xbox to the pj and tv.
Both pj and tv are in the same room so will only be one display at any one time
Pj hdmi is a 10m cable and the others are 2m lengths.

Probably a 3x2 would be enough but i guess it's better to have a spare.

Does anyone have a recommendation of a decent but reasonably priced switch/splitter?

Thanks for the quick reply Jamie.

That looks like it will do the job, i was also looking at the 4x2 matrix switch splitter that you sell, and wondered whether i should get that for some future proofing? Decisions, decisions.
I notice that they both also have a Lifetime Warranty which is pretty cool!

Re: Do i need a 4x2 switch splitter.

Just one thing that has sprung to mind.
I have 2 devices using hdmi inputs into my tv along with one device on component due the the lack of hdmi's.
With the switch/splitter i will only use one of those hdmi inputs for all three devices, now how does the tv decide what to show if more that one device is on?
Also my harmony remote will need reprogramming won't it, because that automatically changes tv inputs to suit.

Just thinking out loud, but if someone could clarify a little i would be grateful

Re: Do i need a 4x2 switch splitter.

It is not the TV that decides. It is you that decides via the switch remote.

The switch will always be routed through just one HDMI input on your TV, this can be any input of your choice.

It is possible for your universal remote to learn the codes from the switch remote.
