2 x HDMI and Wii to a switch?

Hello,

I want to connect 2 x HDMI and whatever comes out the back of a Nintendo Wii to my projector.

Is there such a switch that do the job.

I currently have an HDMI and a Component cables running 15m under floor coard to projector. Do I have to run another cable for Wii or can i use a switch.

I know there are Multiple HDMI switches that will do both the V+ and DVd player.

Well, there are a few types of cable you can use for the Wii, but the best is component. You will have to buy a separate component out cable but then you can just plug it into the cable that goes under the floor. As for a HDMI switch, pretty mcuh any will do as long as they support the resolution of your projector.

The optional Wii 'Component video + Stereo audio' cable will be Male RCA so your likely to require three RCA to RCA adapters to connect to your installed 3RCA 'Component' cable.

You can 'switch' the Wii + 3 HDMI sources over the installed HDMI cable if that simplifies things for you.

Re: 2 x HDMI and Wii to a switch?

Hi thanks for the advice.

Sorry but I have not got the Wii yet, so a bit confused about what comes out the back.

I will only want the video going to the projector via my already installed component cable (RGB). The audio will plug locally direct into my amp.

Therefore do I need 3 adaptors or one?

The HDMI problem (i,e, blu ray and V+) will have to be solved using a switch.

The link to the media Factory Switch is goo, looks a great bit of kit, but very pricey. Mind you wa thinking of havng a PC lnked to the projector too. So a switch like this might work ut cheaper by the time I add up all theose cables I need, plus the installation hassle.

Also, will an HDMI splitter work Ok from the output part of he Media factory switch, in case I want to upgrade to an HD Tv.

Re: 2 x HDMI and Wii to a switch?

The Wii can be set to Output YPbPr 'Component' video + LR 'Stereo' audio over an Optional Wii to 5RCA cable.

You will require 3 x RCA F>F adapter barrels to integrate the video signal with your installed cable.

You can add a 1x2 (or larger) HDMI Splitter (Distribution Amp) to the HDMI Output of the Octava switch.

Re: 2 x HDMI and Wii to a switch?

Joe,
Thanks for the advise. Could you PM me with a quote for the right connectors for the Wii to connect to my existing Component.

I presume I can also ask it to output to a non HD tv which only has scart inputs (labelled S video, RGB, Component).

Thanks
