Question 5 year old HDMI lead Good enough ?

Hi all,

I am in the middle of taking down my 5 year old Panny TH42-PV500 and replacing it with a 50" G10. The leads i have are 5 year old IXOS cables. Are these older cables compliant with 1080p because they are possibly version 1.0 and not the latest Cat2 V1.3c !!. 5 years ago 720p was classed as HD then. They will be connected to a V+ box, DVD player and PS3.

Your views will be appreciated !!

Regards Darren

Hi,

If the cables are CAT1 then 1080p should be fine.

It really depends on what your planning and how easy it is to replace the cable.

Future proofing would mean sticking some CAT2 cables with Ethernet (1.4) in.

Best Regards
