Hi All,

I am just entering the HD world for the first time, and I hoped that I would be able to get some advice from the more knowledgable.

I have just purchased a Panasonic X10 Plasma and a PS3, and I also have Sky HD being installed next week.

I must admit admit I do not understand the differences in the types of HDMI cable, and the huge differences in prices!?

Would you be able to advise on the best HDMI for my PS3 and Sky HD and at the lowest possible price?

I was hoping that a cheaper cable would be adequate?

Cheap cables are fine , if they work they work ,and no premium cable can do better , the likes of the cables you see in shops priced at 100 or so are largely a scam.
There are good suppliers who advertise on here , or if you want to buy from the high street both Tesco and Argos do them for less than a tenner.

Would this be sufficient for both the Sky HD and PS3?

Would an HDMI cable work for both, or are there specific cables for PS3 for example?

But be honest, is this one a little too cheap, and could sacrifice picture quality?

Unless things have changed since I had my Sky+HD installed, you will get a 1M HDMI cable supplied with your box.

Unless you need a really long run, don't even think about spending lots of money for the other one, after all it's only a series of zeros and ones that are being sent along it. By the way, an HDMI cable is an HDMI cable, you don't need something different for the PS3.
