Which HDMI? QED or Sony?

Good evening all! I need to get a hdmi cable for connecting LCD hdtv to ps3.
Whilst some people have been telling me they are all the same I will go for a mid range £50ish pounds. I have been looking at QED and the top Sony one. But i really cant decipher the description. Of these 3 which is best? Thanks

QED PS3 cable

QED Performance cable

Sony HD30 Premium cable

Hello Legends,
Out of Sony and QED, it should be QED.

Listen to the advice, a £10 one will do exactly the same job as a £50 one

Re: Which HDMI? QED or Sony?

The latest Home Cinema Choice has an article about the deep colour subject, what good timing for your question.

Describing a cable as 1.3 is confusing anyway as it is the equipment at each end that needs to support the specific features of 1.3, not the cable in the middle.

Look for one marked as 'Cat 2' or 'high-speed' and don't worry about the numbers.

Cables don't 'support' anything. They just pass the signal from one device to the other.
Every HDMI cable has exactly the same wiring.

For short cable lengths a sub £10 HDMI cable will do just as good a job as a £100 plus one.

Re: Which HDMI? QED or Sony?

I bought some of the thatcable.com HDMI cables that got 5 stars in What Hi-Fi. They're only £4.99 for a 1.5m cable. I was pleasantly surprised by the high quality of the construction. The cable is braided and the connectors are gold plated. I find it hard to believe that the £50 QED cables would make any difference.

By the way, at the same time I also bought some of the Fisual Pro Install Series digital optical cables recommended on this forum. They were £5.98 for 2m. Again, I was very impressed. They're of similar build quality to the QED coaxial digital cable I already own and much better than the Ixos digital optical digital cable I already own.

They don't, that's why. No difference at all. Except the person who bought them has just chucked £40 down the drain.

Re: Which HDMI? QED or Sony?

Taken from the second QED link:

"The HDMI-P is a stunning product. The detail it gives you is awesome. Images come to life, showing pin-sharp edge definition and an excellent three-dimensionality". - WHAT Hi-Fi

Will they ever stop this printing this rubbish?
