Re: Sci Fi Sound Keeps Dropping Out

I did with Cyclops last week, seems common for new channels, perhaps it's a generic learning curve for HD

It's been the most welcome new channel this year....

No seriously, while Scifi will obviously retain many 4:3 masters after not going to the expense of buying widescreen copies when they were a 4:3 channel the amount of native HD and SD widescreen will increase.
They have HD masters of movies which have probably been sourced from SKY or other HD broadcaster, the new TV movies they get hold of in HD and even access to very recent TV shows in HD.
That leaves us with their back catalogue of 4:3 content made long before widescreen let alone HD but as long as they pillarbox it (not crop the top as well like SKY1 used to do) then I'm happy with that as well but then again most of their older stuff I've seen elsewhere already.

Sanctuary and a Segal actioner tonight both in HD
