Re: All HD Channels?
They do all broadcast in HD but the problem is from a regulatory and legal point of view HD is simply a matter of resolution. The SKY HD offering was well known and discussed at length on the AVF well before it launched and a search back to early 2006 may make interesting reading for you, or not
To put simply if channels had to be 100% native HD there would be far less HD growth and takeup, perhaps some channels we have now would not have bothered and we would also lose the obvious benefit of broadcast HD from SD masters not domestic upscaled HD from crippled SD broadcasts.
Long term yes more native HD but in practical terms I prefer the full simulcast channels with an ever growing percentage of HD compared to the BBC, ITV and even FXHD's. Disco and the other docs are 100% native but again very repeat dependent to fill both a fulltime and part time schedule.
Eurosport HD unlike others have a permentant HD tag to differentiate it from the other Eurosport output, when it's native HD they add the onscreen FullHD tag and HD in the EPG.

And there's your problem.
I think an independent-minded viewer would expect a picture to be HD if there is a graphic clearly stating "HD" on the screen.
And whilst we are all "experts" here, most people would not understand the subtlety of "Full" or "Native" HD. They merely sound like different flavours of HD, rather than a bald statement of "Hey look, right now we actually are broadcasting in HD ... unlike all the other times when we just displayed the graphic saying HD on the screen".
Regards

Re: All HD Channels?
Glad it wasn't just me - I got HD yesterday and flicked through the channels and wasn't too impressed with the Snooker!

No argument there.
Perhaps if it was a UK specific channel they would follow the trend of only adding the HD tag for native HD but being EU wide they may do things differently elsewhere so that's why it's seems out of place.

Re: All HD Channels?
I find EuroSport HD to be excellent quality with both non and actual HD content.
That said, I don't watch much on it.
The snooker looked very good to me.

yes no argument there the snooker SD was good and I usually check by pressing the 'i' button and once or twice I was surprised it WASN'T HD as the PQ was pretty good but still not as good as HD

Sky Real Lives HD also always has HD in the main DOG, even if the programme is upscaled.

Maybe one day I'll watch that channel and know not to make the error again
Strange, I always assumed SKY had a policy for the style of HD dog.

Re: All HD Channels?
tuned into C4HD for minority report........................it was in 4;3 SD....what a waste of a HD channel, the PQ was better on the ordinary c4 channel

ScifiHD you mean
Yeah you'd think a few quid to secure the anamorphic widescreen master or the HD master would have been worthwhile. I suppose it could be worse, it could have both horizontal and pillarboxed black borders.
The HD channel has a slight edge over the SD channel once I switched the Pana to 4:3 and not rely on Auto aspect switching
