The Listener, FX HD

Interestingly, FX HD are premiering the new NBC show, The Listener, a week after its US debut.

I wish they could get their other US shows to air as quick as that!!

Re: The Listener, FX HD

Canadian show bought by NBC with International rights owned by FOX which may explain why FX have got hold of it so quick. I quite like the Canadian/NBC tie-in, we so often get the latest ep on the net before it's aired on NBC thanks to CTV

As for the show well it could be interesting and I have to say FX are perhaps the most improved channel for my viewing tastes both overall and HD.

Re: The Listener, FX HD

When is this on? Have seen it in the planner for next week (Sunday, March 8th) on FX but can't see it on FX HD?

Strangely, only the SD version has been put on Anytime.

Re: The Listener, FX HD

Why does the HD showing get put out the night after the SD showing, quite annoying.

I quite liked the first epsidoe, who cares if it's a bit far fetched, seems to be switch your brain off tv and theres nothing wrong with a bit of good entertainment. I could see it getting a bit boring but i'll give this season a watch to see how it pan's out. No use slating a tv show after only one episode.

Also the soundtrack for the show is really good, the music goes really well with the show.

The only reason I can think of is that it's too much effort to match an advert free schedule with a traditional advert filled schedule plus existing shows have the relevant overlapping timeslot on the HD channel.
If you can't then simulcast what difference 1 hour or 1 day

Re: The Listener, FX HD

More to the point, why start it at 10.50pm and not 11? Especially when it clashes with a double episode of 24 and The Shield

Is there an HD repeat, or will I have to make do withe SD version from Anytime this week?

No adverts so the "on the hour" start times become pointless even more so in the PVR era.

HD repeat on the 13th and 15th at 10pm.

Re: The Listener, FX HD

On a normal week, the lack of an "on the hour" start wouldn't be a problem, but Sky slipped in an extra episode of 24 so my Sky+ was busy recording that and The Shield.

Thanks for the heads up about the repeats though

It doesn't bother me too much that there is a delay from the US within reason, but why have a huge delay between the FX SD shoing and FX HD showing for some shows?

The Listener is an example of getting it on both channels quickly, but the HD showing of Life for example is notable by its absence.
