Ozzie Open tennis - Eurosport HD

So far a big let down in terms of production.

Vary rare but Eurosport have actually got presenters out there and seem to be doing lots of interviews. Sadly non of this is in HD. Its very poor SD. Only action on the main court appears to be HD and they have just been showing a match on a side court not in HD.

I really cannott understand the decision to show so much SD content. I just hope we get the Murray match in HD. if they have HD rights then why not do the entire event in HD??

The actual picture quality of the HD content on the courts seems good. Nothing special but its not bad. Lots of bright sunshine to help it along.

Re: Ozzie Open tennis - Eurosport HD

This is being produced by CH7 here in Australia, and they aint showing it in HD here either, so I have to assume its not being produced in HD. There is only one Outside Broadcast system in Australia setup for HD, and that was in Tasmania yesterday at least doing the cricket in HD!

There are two ways of doing it.

BBC HD (Wimbledon) - just show HD content from HD enabled courts regardless of what matches are showing and their interest to viewers.

Sky HD/Eurosport HD - show matches that they think will interest their viewers more. If they're in HD all the better. If Murray is playing on a non HD court - as happened at the US Open - so be it.

Currently Federer is on in HD and the picture is excellent.

I just dont uinderstand why an HD channel cannott be bothered to have the studio/interview segments in HD. Its a stupid decision.

Re: Ozzie Open tennis - Eurosport HD

Cant believe eurosport. Was watching Andy Murray in a superb HD picture quality when some doofus at Eurosport decide to switch to Richard Gasquet on a non HD court. Why not show the non hd court on eurosport 2 and have just the HD court on the hd channel??

Watching Murray on BBC 2 just is not the same as in hd. Why the hell ar ethey switching around.

I know I moan about the lack of quality pictures on HD, but I think this Ozzie open tennis is stunning at the moment. Last night / this morning was the first time in along time Ive gone "wow".

Maybe this is something to do with Gasquet being French, along with Eurosport....?

PQ has been stunning though.
