Re: Sin City tonight BBC HD 9.20pm
One of the few action orientated movies that looks so damn good on DVD that I have never been interested in getting on Blu-ray.
I'll record it though just because it's advert free

Typical, a film I really want to see in HD and it's blowing a gale outside and messing up my reception for the first time in months.

Yes, I just noticed this and switched off because of this. Totally ruins the potential of such a great film in HD.

Re: Sin City tonight BBC HD 9.20pm
I'm a big fan of the imagery used in this film but forgot it was on. Just caught snippets of it and thought it looked absolutely fantastic.

You know, Andy Quested and his cohorts can extol the virtues of BBC HD all they like, but the fact remains that they can't get some of the simple basics right.
Nobody is going to deliver to them a broadcast master of Sin City with only a two-channel soundtrack, it's a HD version for heaven's sake. So what twerp at the BBC decided to broadcast the stereo track (or a downmix) and what possible reason can there be?
Quested et al are good at coming up with novel excuses, so I'd like to hear their explanation for this, it might be good for a laugh.

Re: Sin City tonight BBC HD 9.20pm
I compared the BBC broadcast of Sin City to one that I recorded months ago on Sky Movies and it didn't have as much detail, looked overall like a softer image. Still looked great though. The Sky Movie version looks as good as any of my blu-ray discs.

Re: Sin City tonight BBC HD 9.20pm
How long as Danielle Naggler (not sure if spelt right) been in Charge of BBC HD?? Surely she has been in charge long enough to sort out the basics.
So far the BBC cant seem to get sound right on many shows and they cant get the picture quality right either on most things.

I agree, and the argument about 1080p is suddenly redundant !
