Dead pixels ????

Why is it that on Dexter and Skins (possibly more) that there are dead pixels in exactly the same place on the screen

Re: Dead pixels ????

Are you watching a manual recording or perhaps locked recording?

Re: Dead pixels ????

I think we always watch it recorded on our Sky+ HD box - does that make a difference ?

It is really irritating on Dexter at the mo, your eyes just keep focusing on the few dead pixels

Re: Dead pixels ????

Ok, first off if the TV is at fault the dead pixels will there for everything you watch even the TV's own menus.
If this is not the case then there is a well known "bug" in the SKY+HD when creates a very noticeable spot of colour (black) in the same place on the screen when playing back a manual recording or a planner recording that has the Blue Locked function enabled, in other words you have to enter the PIN to watch the programme.

If it's the latter then when it's playing press Pause then the Green button then Backup and you are back in playback and no black dot.
If it's the former then the TV is probably damaged.

Re: Dead pixels ????

Well I never, thank you - it must be the 'bug' then - I do lock these so daughter can't play them - I will do what you said, thanks again, will let you know how I get on

Re: Dead pixels ????

Thanks for the advice, I turned off the lock and the pixels don't show up now!
