NFL in HD ??

Anyone know if the NFL will be shown in HD? All the matches in America were in HD last year and all we had was the Superbowl in HD. Surely Sky will now start the show the regular season games in HD... won't they...

Last season's NFC and AFC championship games were also screened in HD.

There was a feed from Sky's sister company Fox and one from CBS. Both were good but the CBS feed was fantastic.

I'd like to see more, but I wouldn't hold my breath as I'd imagine the rights are quite expensive.

Maybe an HD highlights show could be an option?

Re: NFL in HD ??

Id certainly hope to see a lot more in HD , seeing as we now have 3 hd sky sports channels.

Having said that if any of the games are on xtra then i guess they wont be. I watched the last one at a friends house and was blown away with how amazing it all looked in HD.

Heres hoping eh

Re: NFL in HD ??

I'm wondering exactly the same thing and emailed sky about it, but they could only say they didn't know which games would be shown in HD this year. At least that means there'll be some though.
If they do show the regular season games, I'd bet it will only be the main games and not the interactive ones. Can they actually show any red buttons programmes in HD? (bandwidth etc)

Before the launch of all the Sky Sports HD channels, I'm pretty sure that Sky did indeed use the 'red button' to broadcast some football matches. Plus of course that's the way ITV HD are delivering their HD content to Freesat users.

Re: NFL in HD ??

i remember watching the playoffs last year and a viewer had sent in a question why arent the games in HD and the reply was something along the lines of "dont worry about that as the NFC, AFC championships and superbowl are all in HD" no mention of why the others weren't

Re: NFL in HD ??

The game from Wembley was also in HD last year and presumably will be this season.

Re: NFL in HD ??

If the Packers games are in HD i'll be happy

Does anyone know what the deal is with the english league football? I guess most if not all premiership games are in HD, but what about Championship? I know Swansea already have a couple of games planned to be shown on sky sports, would be nice to see them in HD too!

Well he's coming at 8am tomorrow/today so knowing me I won't bother going back to bed, I'll just be up playing around with the HD channels Although should I be worried that the thing I'm looking forward to most in HD is nfl, premiership and championship. i.e - men running round a field!

Wouldn't worry too much, the EPL and Championshop are mainly made up of girls aren't they....?

Guiness Premiership also looked great in HD last season if you're really into watching men running around a field!
