Amazingly it IS being shown in HD - all recent films on Sky One HD ("The Matrix" for example) have been shown in SD - even when Sky have shown the HD version on their Movie Channels quite recently!

I had assumed that, to protect the Movie Channels, they were never going to show any HD films on this channel!

Re: Saving private ryan on sky1 hd

For anyone that missed it, in true Sky tradition, it's on again tomorrow (Wednesday) night.

It looks stunning and if anyone complains about the grainy picture I'll scream

To me, it looked sharper than when it was on the HD Movie Channel.

There was Saving Private Ryan Sky One HD Tues 11.00pm

It was in the 'HD Programmes' section where all HD content related stuff is supposed to be. (Moderators standpoint, not mine )

I don't understand this. All Sky HD users will come to this forum so we should happily post info specifically about Sky HD programmes here - saves us moving around. Why mix up Sky HD Programmes with bluray purchases, internet downloads, foreign networks and general programme news? When the Eurovision screwed up most people took the approach of coming here first and establishing whether it was (or was not in that case) a platform issue, which is probably the right thing to do. I think our lords and masters should consider people's behaviour more so than dictating of headings / topics for our conversations.

Also, feel the same way about the Virgin Cable TV and Virgin Cable Internet being forcibly seperated but now I'm going way

I agree with that in some respects, but can also see the benefits of having a seperate catagory. There is a difference between 'techy' stuff - "Which HDMI lead...?", "Anyone else lose sound last night...?" etc etc that you get on there and the stuff like "SPR on Sky1 HD on Tuesday...?" , "Anyone know when the news is being repeated...?" etc etc that goes on the HD Programmes section, so I kinda know where the mods are coming from.

What I don't agree with, and I know I'm not on my own, is that the programmes section is stuck in some far flung corner of the forums. I believe that it should at least have a direct link at the top of the Sky HD forum. Surely that can't be hard, can it?

I suppose posts like "Anyone see the footie last night? Wasn't the PQ pants...?" will have a foot in both camps so who knows where that would sit?

Re: Saving private ryan on sky1 hd

Its fairly simple really . Threads about specific HD TV programmes belong in the HD TV programmes Forum.
The Satellite TV and Child forums are more for hardware and software issues , rather than content

I used to do this with Sky Premier SD as opposed to HD.
I've now removed Sky Premier SD from my favourites, although watching Saw 3 recently in SD rather than HD was probably for the better in my case.
