BBC HD Sport

I remember when I first got SkyHD and I was overjoyed watching the quality of some of the World Cup matches which were shown in HD on the BBC.

Now I cannot remember the last time that the Beeb showed a footie match in HD. They have the rights to show the FA Cup - yet today, Utd v Spurs is in SD on the Beeb - and it is a bloody poor SD broadcast as well.

Poor show

Re: BBC HD Sport

The beeb said it because the HD channel didn't get in the green light in time for the FA cup matches to be included in the budget, or something around those lines.

The FA Cup semi finals will be shown in HD as will Euro 2008 (not that any of the home nations will be there )

Re: BBC HD Sport

Its amazing that they still show football in the trailers (or whatever its called) but don't actually show any.

Sky have managed to send ross kemp to be shot at and still filmed in HD, come on how why no football.

Unhappy Re: BBC HD Sport

Anyone from the BBC care to explain why the FA Cup Semi-Final today will not have DD 5.1 sound? (no DD in the planner)

At least it is HD!

Re: BBC HD Sport

It is HD but not the best PQ. Low bitrate artifacts.

Re: BBC HD Sport

The smearing of the pitch as the camera moves is awful.

BBC HD never put the sound format on the EPG. As it is, it's only in DD2.0.

Pretty poor show really. I know it's 'free', but it just makes Sky worth the subs.

Re: BBC HD Sport

I missed the football on BBC HD, all I could see they were showing today was Dino...blah something all day

I was hoping the Grand National would be on in HD - no such luck, not even Dr Who tonite was on in HD - their flagship programme, does not say alot for BBC HD.
