Re: Flashfoward

Enjoyed this as well, but will wait for Blu Ray or another HD channel to show it.

The 720p version i downloaded wasn't that great either.

The Blu Ray will be out sometime after the series ends.

Re: Flashfoward

I'm sure this will upset some people, but I just hope Sky outbid them for the next series and show it in HD

Re: Flashfoward

I thought it was ok. But...

Dragging it out for 6 months is going to be well tedious. And the big danger is that if it catches on, there will be an irresistible temptation on the part of the network to do a "Lost" on it. That being the opposite of a "Fawlty Towers".

I thought that the 1st 10 mins had me thinking it was really disjointed and jumping all over the place, at first thought it was going to be Lost x10

Sticking with it though it wasnt too bad have to see how they play it though, if they try and stuff every shot with Easter Eggs for people to pour over and have a super convoluted story line which drags on forever then im out.

However the 1st ep was alright i thought the story progressed quite a bit and some things moved forward faster than i thought they would

eg spoiler - Seeing the bloke his missus was cheating on him with in his flashforward end spoiler

Ill give it a shot and keep watching in hope the plot doesnt turn into a convoluted mess.

Five HD will be on DTT by then and come on SKY will do a deal to provide transponder space and FTV encryption to allow the channel to be on Dsat as well

Re: Flashfoward

Of course, by then Five might have done a Channel 4 and moved Flashforward to Five US after falling ratings and decided to not show it on Five HD until it gets repeated on Five (SD) a year later....screening Home and Away in HD from Five instead.

This is what happens all the time on Channel 4 with their US HD programming.

So I agree Sky would be the best home for ANY HD drama, if you want guaranteed HD asap after US screening.

Sad, but true.

I thought the same!!

Quite enjoyed it, but then thought do I want to invest 4 years in them finding out what caused it...... saying that they could get to the cause in the next 10 episodes, what do I know.........

Re: Flashfoward

From a plot point of view I'll give it a little more time, but it was rather derivative.

The opening crash sequence was reminiscent of the Lost plane crash.

The idea that something is going to happen on a known date in a few months time, is a bit like season one of Heroes.

The heavy use of colouration to denote location (?) was a bit wearing too.

It's treading over some well-trodden SciFi ground. "There's no fate but what we make" springs to mind. As we start to see "corroboration" of the premonitions (e.g. bracelet) then this "proves" that what is going to happen will in fact happen. So what on earth is there to be done about it ? We may as well just get on with out lives.

More importantly, did anyone else see the compression failing to keep up with some of the fast cutting images in the premonition sequences ?

Fair play to C5 though, by putting it on immediately after The Gadget Show it didn't seem like so bad a picture !

And what's the point of all the over-the-top advertising about this show ... immediately before the show starts ? What's the point of that ?

Regards

Re: Flashfoward

Main thread here:
David S. Goyer’s - Flash Forward (S1 - with spoilers)

Closing this considering it isn't a HD programme in the UK.
