I've got the possibility to buy an EP30 dirt cheap. However, the player has got an error. It shows an error message on some films at some point into the film. From what I have read on this forum, I suspect it has to do with the laser change of layer to read. Is this something that can be fixed by firmware upgrade or reinstall?

What Disc's are the Problem at layer change ? And is there a Code shown..
i had this issue a while back and it was the Discs ..

the new issue i have myself is I am Legend . in old Xe1 Disc will just not Play (Freezes player) in newer Xe1 film plays Fine Both are 4.0 firmware .. odd ..

I coming to think they did Revised Drives on each Batch .. same with Ep30/35 .
