Toshiba XA1 HD dvd repair

Hi i have a toshiba XA1 HD dvd player that will not power up. I get a standby light and upon pressing the power button i get a green light and a beep of the machine but nothing else. I have tried a new 100w power convertor but still no joy, so it is definitaley the machine that is broken.

My question is where is the best and cheapest place to get this machine fixed?
What does one think the estimated cost would be?
Im in the north west, are ther any repairers in this region?
any help appreciated
thx

I have the same player, but Ive seen them go for very little on the classifieds, about £50! So, you maybe best to keep as a spare for parts and buy another? Dont scream back, but you have been using this on 110v only? Its not been plugged in to 240v?

Hi this is the same player, i purchased it off ebay a while back. it arrived broke. i posted at the begining of the year and it was suggested that it might be the power convertor. i decided to buy an XE1 and have since bought a EP35 aswell as my XE1 does not work with my Lumagen HDP scaler. so i have in the last week bought a new power convertor, hence my new post. It would be nice to get it up and running but if its too expensive (more than £30) its not worth it.
thx
