HD-XE1 remote, backlight not working

I have got myself a secondhand HD-XE1. Everything seems to work fine, but I can't get the backlight on the remote to work. No light if I press the backlight button or not.

Is this a common problem with these remotes? Any way to get it fixed?

Viking61 you could hack the remote so you do not need to press the Button for 3 seconds

Re: HD-XE1 remote, backlight not working

I've had 2 XE1's I thought the backlight didn't work on either of them...

I now have an XA1 where the light comes on when you pick the remote up...lets face it, who actually presses ANY remote button for 3 seconds...
