you can easily get hold of a pc hddvd/bluray burner.
you could use software like virtual clone drive/daemon tools etc, there will be loads more out there now.

You'll want something like this (burners also availble).

I use this AnyHDDVD software.

You can even go one step further and demux the HD-DVD and mux it to a Blu-Ray.

Takes less than an hour on my PC to do.

I do this for my Iobox but I suppose it would be a good easy way to allow you to watch them on PowerDVD without hacking it to get HD-DVD's to work.

Re: Can I back up my HD DVDs to a PC?

K guys, nice I stumbled across this thread..
I just purchased over 60 HD DVDs, and have them backed up on my pc, via ANY DVD HD, and played back via CyberLink PowerDVD Ultra Version 8 from memory..
HD DVDs are easy to play back, just open the file, via menu, choose the drop down section of the HD DVD, and it will load. (Rip must not be an image, where as Blu rays do). EDIT, ripping as an ISO to see if it will play back when mounted, will post with results) Confirmed you can Rip HD DVDs as ISOs...
One word of warning, the mouse does not function as a seletor for menus, only the keyboard does. But with Blu rays the mouse does allow menu functions...
I rip Blu Rays as an image and mount them via Virtual clone, its that easy...
I currently have 8 HDs in my pc, 5 750Gb's, 1 1 Tb, 1 1.5 Tb and an old 320 IDE.
I don't do gaming, I just use this as a media player, which is much better than any other media player out there on the market, it should be it cost me a fortune.. LOL
Another advantage of the software is Headphone playback, which is quite impressive...
I currently have 30 HD DVDs stored on 1 750 Gb HD with 100 Gb to spare.. Compared to Blu Rays, they don't take up as much space and look just as good IMO...

Hope this helps... .
