EP30 sd disc problem

Hi Guys,

Help needed please.

I have an EP30 cross flashed to 35 and it plays HDDVD's perfectly and bitstreams audio etc.

However, it will not now play uk sourced SD dvd's it just comes up with region error.

I have applied the EP35 region free hack, but this makes no difference, can anyone help please.

Thanks in anticipation.

Chris

Re: EP30 sd disc problem

What are the names of the firmware files you used?

Re: EP30 sd disc problem

Originally used A30-dirty1 then A35-dirty2, finally AK4000_S-user.

Having read more posts on here, I thought that the problem might be having converted the player into an american model, so then found EP35-dirty1 then EP35-dirty2, followed by AK4000_S-user.

None of that worked so then tried HD-EP35 ver1.3 regionfree and still no joy.

After Brian PK's reply I tried the above again, without AK4000_S-user and then with and still no joy.

If you could shed any further light I would be most grateful.

Re: EP30 sd disc problem

Using A30-dirty1 and A35-dirty2 will convert your player into a quasi-A35 locked to region 1. However, if you after that used EP35-dirty1 and EP35-dirty2, it should have corrected the problem. When you say "None of that worked", do you mean that the firmware files wouldn't install or that the files installed but the region error still appears?

Please press Display, 1, 9, 5, Display on your remote and tell me what is shown as Machine Code.

Re: EP30 sd disc problem

The files all installed OK, but still get the region error on SD discs only.

Machine code reads HDA35KTU.

Does this mean that the EP35 software has not installed correctly?

Re: EP30 sd disc problem

Yes, it means that your player is still in A35-mode.

Download EP35-dirty1 and EP35-dirty2 from the link you will find in this post:
Toshiba EP30 Region Free Firmware

Those files should be ok.
