Valuation of some titles??

I can't work out where to post this question, so here will have to do!!

I'm keeping 99% of my HD DVD titles, but does anyone know if the below titles are worth anything? - i would imagine the Jack Ryan / Blade Runner & Harry Potter sets must be?

The Jack Ryan Collection - still sealed. Was withdrawn and never actually released, some of us ended up with early copies from importers. US

Harry Potter suitcase collection years 1-5 - still sealed. US

Blade Runner briefcase - still sealed. US

Stanley Kubrick titles. The Shining/Full Metal Jacket/Eyes Wide Shut/2001/A Clockwork Orange. All titles still sealed, except for A Clockwork Orange that was opened for Malcolm McDowell to sign. US

1408 Director's Cut - still sealed - German release.

T2 tin - German release.

Bug - still sealed - German release.

Thanks in advance for any help.

try plugging the titles in on Amazon.co.uk: low prices in Electronics, Books, Music, DVDs & more or .com in the serach area for dvd titles and include HD in nthe search - for example the harry potter suitcase seems to be worth about £35 or so....

Re: Valuation of some titles??

Although I would agree that by looking at Amazon marketplace will get you an idea of prices, I wouldn't say it will give you a realistic idea as most of the prices on there are just completely insane. In my opinion:

The Jack Ryan Collection - Difficult to say as very rare indeed but (again in my opinion only) this is only one for collectors as it's not as if they had extras on. Seem to remember inet were selling this recently for about $100 so I think maybe £50 would be very easy to get. Probably more if you find someone who really wants this.

Harry Potter suitcase collection years 1-5 - £30 maximum I'd say. This isn't that rare, if you want it it's easily found.

Blade Runner briefcase - Again, I think inet are selling this even now for $20 sealed so I don't think you'd get much for it. Even after you consider shipping costs I'd think that £20 is about your limit.

Stanley Kubrick titles. The Shining/Full Metal Jacket/Eyes Wide Shut/2001/A Clockwork Orange. Up to £10 each, apart from the signed Clockwork Orange of course!

1408 Director's Cut - still sealed - That's a good one. Wouldn't mind that myself. Up to £30 maybe.

T2 tin - Nothing special. Up to about £12.

Bug - still sealed - German release. Again nothing that special, maybe £10.

I don't buy into the argument that HD's will raise in value at all. I personally think the opposite. Some titles will keep their value, like the German release of 1408 or Crank and maybe British ones like In The Shadow of the Moon but others are only ever going to fall - yes I'm looking at you P2.

Re: Valuation of some titles??

The trouble is they nothin that you cant get on blu ray, have Bladerunner dvd & hd dvd briefcase set, and the dvd one worth a lot more than the hd-dvd one, prices will drop,if u want to sell, get them out they quick. ps Got my Harry Potter hd-dvd very cheap from US, because u have to pass the DD True soundtrack thought as PCM, for some reason the boxset discs wont lock onto the DD True soundtrack

Re: Valuation of some titles??

Thanks for reply chaps!

I'm surprised/shocked about the Blade Runner & Harry Potter sets, i thought they would be worth more than that! I was hoping to get £50 for the Harry Potter set, purely so i could replace them with the Blu Ray titles

I also thought i'd get more for the Jack Ryan set as well, seeing as though it never 'officially' came out.

Again, thanks for the response

Re: Valuation of some titles??

£20 a bit low for blade runner, its $40 plus shipping on inet:

Blade Runner (Five-Disc Ultimate Collector's Edition) (Brief Case Bag) (HD DVD) (Boxset) (DVD NEW): N01-0122120 iNetVideo.com - Movies, Games, Music

They seem to be out of the Potter suitcase so you might get for £30-35, i only found one on ebay now and its nearer £45.

HARRY POTTER - YEARS 1-5 LIMITED EDITION *HD DVD BOXSET on eBay (end time 15-Jul-09 17:15:11 BST)
