Re: welcome bug on ep-30

Did they say they will send an engineer to visit you?

I thought they just replaced the units.

Re: welcome bug on ep-30

Are you located in UK? I think most of the other guys have got their players replaced when calling Toshiba.

If someone knows how to write the firmware image (.iso file) to a memory stick, maybe you would be able to boot from that and reflash your player. It is of course not enough to copy the iso file itself to a memory stick, it needs to be written as an image. I would be really interested in trying this myself.

Well after doing the multi-region thing mine occasionally does this. I have to turn off at the mains and back on again.

Re: welcome bug on ep-30

I would call Toshiba again and tell them that your HD-EP30 is stuck on WELCOME after a firmware update. Be sure to call the right office. I'm sure one of the guys that have got their player replaced can give you the correct phone number.

Re: welcome bug on ep-30

The problem with the WELCOME bug is that you are not able to start any firmware update. The player does not respond to any commands, it only beeps. I don't think the guy who was helped with the dirty2 firmware had the WELCOME bug.
