Good review Phil. Just curious though, how did it compare to the 2700?

Hi,
i bought Yamaha RX-V1900 with Bose AM15 series 3, it worked so good for like one day but the next day when i turned up to the full volume smoke came of out the Bose module i dont know what went wrong ? was it the power of Yamaha blown it or somethin???

The Yamaha had nothing to do with it.The problem is in the Boss module, wich I presume is in subwoofer.That is the subs amp burning out I think.When you turned your sistem loud the amp in Yamaha could cope, delivering good power with litle THD(disstortion), while the amp in sub(with less power) could not, went into clliping and burning out.For room shaking bass efects ,you will have to buy more powerful and bigger sub.The Boss you own, packs only 6"drivers inside.I think that is just not big inaf for big AV sound.I hope you can read my bad english.

I just purchased my third yamaha av receiver in 14 years,
for the price the rx-v1900 is outstanding. I was blown away
while watching GI Joe in DTS Master audio HD via the lossless audio via hdmi. My Klipsch reference speakers never sounded and performed so well, as did the two ksw-12 subs. The bass response from this unit is so smooth
and precise no matter what i'm listening too,very impressed. I was a bit concerned about the video and hdmi hand shake issues, but my blu ray and hd dvd and my hd sat receiver had no issues and the picture on my 61" samsung were perfect. The upconverter works pretty good
with my kids ps2 real vivid. I usually turn it off since my toshiba hd-xa2 i use to watch sd dvd's and it's upconverter processor is outstanding. For the price you can't beat the 1900, plenty of power mine set to 8 ohms setting, i watch action movies at a pretty high volume level and after 2 hours this unit still is performing flawlessly. The only cons I have is in America we don't get a usb port in front, and i wish it had ethernet connection also for easier firmware updates in the future, otherwise fantastic unit!

My friend owns a Pioneer LX71 and we compared to my RVX1900.In my HO. and my friend had to agree(with sad face expression) the Yamaha was beter in sound by far.The sound is far more dynamic, open and detaild. And as for sheer power the RVX1900 is far superior - in diferent class.The calibration, sound enhancer and procesors are beter.Even the acoustic setups like AlbertHall are a lot of fun.Only thing the Pioneer is beter is the design.And for a 500eur price diference in favour of Yamaha.Spending 650eur for a demo unit was my best investment of last few years.

I am having trouble with my Yam. RX-V1900 receiver recognising MP3 files from my external hard drive through the USB input???. I have tried two different memory devices and neither work. The instruction manual explains that certain external memory devices need to be used. Can some one help with this as it is driving me craaaaaaazy. Thanks.
