LG 42PG6000 Plasma HDTV Review

Reviewed by Phil Hinton
Overall, the LG is a no-nonsense plasma TV that offers a good out of the box performance, and looks extremely accurate when calibrated thanks to its full picture controls. If you are looking for a budget plasma TV which offers more than most, I would recommend that you check out the LG PG6000.

Great review Mr Hinton

You mentioned the TV handles 24p without serious judder. Does that mean there is some but it's not worth worrying about?

Re: LG 42PG6000 Plasma HDTV Review

Thanks for a very good review .I have had this set for a month now and I am very happy with both the styling and of course more importantly the picture. Its very good with standard DVDs upscaled from my Toshiba EP30 HDDVD and as expected HD discs look stunning. I have done my best to calibrate the picture using the menu and THX setup disc but would it be possible to publish your calibration settings just as a guide and to see if they work better.
Many thanks.

Thank you for the excellent review.
I own a 32PG6000 and I am very interested to know what settings were finally used in the review.
Also would be nice if db2332 tell us hers.

A greeting and forgiveness for my horrible english.

Re: LG 42PG6000 Plasma HDTV Review

Very useful review indeed, thanks
I already heard about the image retention problem. Next to that, I read that the screen isn't always evenly black or white and can give stripes or spots in these instances. Maybe someone has the same experience with the PG6000?

Re: LG 42PG6000 Plasma HDTV Review

I've had this TV for over a month now, not really had much use as I'm still waiting for a sofa, sitting on dining chairs isn't a very comfortable viewing experience. From what I have seen it is a great TV, much better than my old LCD.
