Samsung UE46B8000 LCD HDTV Review

Reviewed by David Mackenzie
The slim display introduces so many other compromises that you wonder what the point of taking it beyond “trade show floor novelty” and turning it into a commercial product was in the first place.

Re: Samsung UE46B8000 LCD HDTV Review

I am sending mine back tomorrow ! Had it a week but I couldn't stand the light patches on all black scenes, really distracting. Also the lagging on games that is mentioned in the review was very evident. One more thing, the rf remote that is supplied kep needing 'paired' with the tv, also annoying. Wish AV forums had written this review a week or two ago I wouldn't have bought it. Everywhere else raves about this tv. Much respect to these guys. I am hopefully off to buy a 5090h on Thursday, I am praying that is better on games and is as good as people say on HD material.

A Pioneer 5090? It's great for games and looks fantastic with films in the MOVIE mode.

Thanks all, makes me feel better about splashing an awful lot of cash on the 5090. Tomorrow is D-day, will audition it and then if it's as good as hoped it will be purchased.
The difficult part will then be resisting the BDP320 and vsx-1019 ah-k combo !!
