Toshiba 37AV635D LCD HDTV Review

Reviewed by David Mackenzie
The 37AV635D has a fantastic level of control, and its SD video processing is also better than many other sets. But, these images are forced to go through a substandard LCD panel before they reach your eyes.

Re: Toshiba 37AV635D LCD HDTV Review

Hi,

Are the images of the TV menus some of the optimum settings chosen to make this TV to look andrun as smoothly as possible?

I'd be grateful for any advice as I'm noticing a fair amount of jaggies around the edges of things, and some channels/programmes appear blurred (quite noticeable on the images in the 8 boxes in Sky News Active), also some channels resize to 4:3 to which I have noticed there is an option to stop the resizing but when I choose this the pictures appear blurry.

I have not made any changes to my Regza as I don't really know where to start, and I know the TV is capable of displaying better than I appear to be getting, so assume that I need to make some changes to the settings.

Any help offered regarding the best settings for quality, would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers S.

Fantastic review. I assume that the images posted ARE the optimum settings! I have just bought this TV (the 32 inch version) and now understand so much more about it. These settings have made a huge difference...

any suggestions on how to calibrate a tv device would be really useful. I have this TV and havent really calibrated it, but if I can get a difference in picture, please do let me know the values you choose.

Thanks
