Congratulations to JVC for building a solid display aimed at the high end and custom install market. The image we obtained after calibration was excellent, and a gigantic improvement on the out-of-the-box modes - all thanks to the level of control provided.

Hi, thanks for this excellent review which fortunately mentions the viewing angle problem which makes this set a no go area for families with couple of kids or those who cannot watch head on. I have had look on couple of JVC sbecause I just like their design only to be sadly disappointed because of the viewing angle limits. Once you had tele which was good in that field (mine was a Tosh 37WLT58) you simply cannot get yourself to buy another that is flawed in this aspect, even if it is perfect otherwise.

Must say I'm surprised JVC has come up with such a good panel. I know their projectors have always had favourable reviews but most of their LCDTV's in the past have left me a little unimpressed.

Seems that most manufactures (except panasonic) are taking note and offering good user controls again. My first plasma had white balance and colour control, so too did my first lcd but in recent years they have gone missing.

Hopefully next year Panasonic will too follow suit, anyway I look forward to seeing the LT-42WX70 in action myself
