How to get rid of MacDrive?

Can anyone help with my query?

After hearing all this fuss about switching to hfs+, I did this to a new external hard drive with MacDrive. I've decided it's not worth the hassle and want to go back to Fat32 or NTFS. I've tried reformatting in windows but it tells me it cannot reformat. When I delete the volume in MacDrive, or switch off MacDrive, the drive just disappears!

Can anyone give me an idiot proof way of getting my hard drive back to square one!?! I've run out of ideas!

Model is Freecom Hard Drive Classic 500GB

Re: How to get rid of MacDrive?

Use a Linux live-disk to format the drive, it is in a format that Windows does not recognise so that is why are having no luck....Or migrate to a Mac and use disk utility...

Thanks for the reply!

Got it sorted in a cack-handed way in the end, but it works!
