lots of hard drives advice needed please

i have 8 500 gig harddrives and want to find a way of having them all connected to my pc at one time either a case they can be mounted in or another solution , reason being i only have 2 usb ports on my htpc

what are your suggestions please?

external hard drives then?

Get one or two mains powered USB hubs and stack them up next to your PC

8 HDD's will draw a lot of power from your mains though, as each will have its own power supply

Cheap and nasty tower case, and use an external Sata connection.

That would be useful if the OP had SCSI disks

NAS enclosure (with SATA) or a cheap tower case with a system board that has enough SATA ports, if not add a couple of couple of PCI SATA cards.
