64 gb usb drive help

hi all ive just got a 64gb usb drive, and it beeps when i put it in my pc, but it wont show up, and when i go into my computer, manage, disc management,
the disc shows up but it wont let me put anything on it,
it appears as disc 1 not initialized, and unknown, with a red arrow pointing down, and as such it wont let me do anything with the blody thing, any ideas?? ive tried it in 2 laptops and the pc with the same outcome,

Sounds like it needs formatting/partitioning to me.

You should be able to do that in disc management.

In disk manager, initialise it first then format.

Badgers right, you should be able to right click in the disk management but and initialise and format it at the same time..

on the mbr in the manager bit it says the drive is write protected!

and if i right click the card, it has got the initialize disc option is greyed out,

Is there a lock (ie write protect) switch on the stick..?
Maybe this is in the lock position.

Where did you buy it from? Email them and say you want a refund of some sort as it appears to be faulty or help on how to get it working?

Sorted, It was a dodgy drive, emailed company, and they sent out an replacement,
